We recognise the role we as educators play in guiding your child in his/her development. Our program describes how we undertake this. It is influenced by our philosophy. The planning and programming process recognises that children mature at different rates and have individually preferred styles of learning; therefore the progress of each child is monitored closely. We look at the whole child and then plan an environment, experiences and interaction, which will further develop their strengths as well as address the areas of need.
Children who come to Lang Park ELC and Kindergarten are seen as unique and capable individuals that have their own interests, skills, and ideas. We feel children have the right to be active participants in their own learning and must be empowered to express their views and ideas. We will value, respect and appreciate their individual uniqueness. Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework we will work alongside your child to actively promote meaningful learning in all areas of development.
We believe in a program that is play based and guided by the child’s interest. We embrace the Reggio Emilia approach to learning, with its belief that children have rights and should be given opportunities to develop to their full potential. Children are encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas. We believe children must have some control over the direction of their learning incorporating the child’s voice.
Our curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the concepts of Belonging, Being and Becoming.

Why School Readiness?
School readiness has become increasingly important as educational expectations continue to rise. It is our belief that a comprehensive and holistic Kindergarten Program is an essential part of a child’s learning journey.
Our Kindergarten Program is developed with reference to the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), an Australian Government-approved framework designed to ensure that children in all early childhood education and care settings receive quality teaching to achieve the required outcomes.
The Early Years Framework focuses on the view that early childhood is a time for children to explore the notions of “being”, “belonging,” and “becoming”, these are essential to the development of identity, cognitive reasoning and wellbeing.
Educational expectations around school readiness create the curriculum using the framework around children’s interactions, activities and experiences, both intentional and child-led. Educators use the Early Years Learning Framework as a tool in your child’s learning, ensuring that your child is fully prepared in every way possible to transition confidently to the school environment.
Play-based learning meets a range of developmental outcomes such as personality, expression, individuality, relationship development, curiosity and creativity as well as developing a strong sense of wellbeing. Our highly qualified educators promote the developmental outcomes through a daily schedule of indoor-outdoor activities, engaging child-adult interactions and child-child interactions, promoting positive friendships within the learning environment and multiple creative activities such as arts, movement and music.
